About Me
Hello, I'm Caroline.
For 12 years, I built my career in the City of London insurance market, working as an Insurance Underwriter. I loved the structure, the professionalism and the challenge of the industry, and I never imagined my career would take a completely different direction.
Then redundancy changed everything.
At first, it felt like a setback. Looking back now, I see it as one of the greatest opportunities of my life.
During my time in the City, one conversation kept coming up among colleagues. Parents would arrive at work stressed because their childminder had cancelled at the last minute, a nanny was unavailable, or childcare arrangements had fallen through. Too often, talented professionals particularly mothers were forced to take time off work because they simply couldn’t find reliable childcare.
That stayed with me.
I realised that if I ever had the opportunity to build a childcare business, it would be founded on one principle:
To meet the needs of working parents wherever possible, by providing reliable, high-quality childcare they could depend on.
In 2004, I took a leap of faith and established my first childcare setting. What started as one setting has since grown into 16 early years settings across London, supporting hundreds of children and their families every week and employing over 100 dedicated professionals.
Over the past 21 years, my work has evolved far beyond running childcare settings. I have become deeply passionate about raising standards across the early years sector by developing strong leaders, building sustainable organisations and creating systems that improve outcomes for children.
Today, I am the Founder and CEO of Alpha Childcare, Founder of Alpha Global Africa, and Founder of the Early Years Childcare Conference (EYCC), one of Africa’s leading platforms dedicated to transforming early childhood education. Through conferences, leadership programmes, research, safeguarding initiatives and strategic partnerships, I have had the privilege of supporting thousands of educators, school owners, leaders and policymakers across the UK and Africa.
As an international keynote speaker, leadership strategist and consultant, I speak on leadership, scaling organisations, entrepreneurship, safeguarding, governance and organisational excellence. My passion is helping organisations grow without compromising quality, because I believe sustainable growth is built on strong systems, strong leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
I have been privileged to learn from some of the world’s leading institutions, including Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and IESE Business School, and I am a member of the Institute of Directors. These experiences continue to shape my thinking, but my greatest education has come from serving children, families and communities over the last two decades.
Everything I do is driven by one conviction:
When we invest in children, we shape the future. When we invest in those who care for children, we transform generations.
That belief continues to guide my work as a business leader, speaker, mentor and advocate for excellence in early childhood education.
Because for me, this has never just been about building a business.
It has always been about building a legacy that gives every child the opportunity to thrive.
